Fashion In Baby Clothes Line

Date: 22 May, 2009

Buying clothing for new-born's is always a joy for first time parents, relations or friends. The thought of popping into a baby shop and perusing through the lines of small clothing oozes emotional butterflies and much wanted sighs followed the ever popular word associated with affection 'Aw how cute'. Though buying baby clothes is much more important than they perhaps were in the past. Most people will not be so aware that dressing up your little ones is more than just finding something warm to clothe them in, but is a task to make your child appear more appealing and 'cute'.

The fashion world has targeted baby clothes as a possible business venture. After all people are always in need of new baby clothing and what is more appealing than an item that resembles a miniature version of the latest trends and seeing your baby ogled at by appreciative passers-by. Parents are so proud to have children that gather attention that it gives them a secure sense of achievement and of course positive attention to them. It acts as a testament to them raising a child and so this is best portrayed with how one looks like.

Dressing up children sounds like something that girls are most likely to do as an inherited action from their childhood when they would play with dolls. It is a misguided stereotype that women have more a sense in matching items of clothing and being better at spotting what colour the child should wear to bring out their best features. This is not entirely true because the broad variety of baby clothing available in most retail shops and the appeal it has on both sets of parents.

Baby clothes were once very simple, often plain in colour and frilly. Some babies were dresses with a frilled cotton hat, a cotton dress and a blanket to keep them wrapped up warm. Now even newborns can have customised T-shirts with a funny slogan or logo upon it drawing further attention to them. Amongst the customised T-shirts are also comical images and famous artist names such as Motorhead, Teletubbies, Hello Kitty and more. Some funny slogans can be ironic or even ones that are associated with the way the baby looks.

The fact is baby clothes are no longer just something to keep babies protected and warm, but also a ploy to bring in much attention and have the baby stand out above others. The way in which the clothes are designed are so that the fabric and material are non abrasive to their sensitive skin and not made from toxic chemicals. They are easily washable with most recommended to be hand washed at specific temperatures. Ideally children should have their clothes replaced frequently because of the fast rate that they grow and to keep fresh supply of new clothes with different material qualities to it. It is easier this way to prevent allergic reactions and keeping the child's skin in good condition.
