Nightwear Which Keeps You Cool On Warm, Sultry Nights
Date: 26 June, 2009
We spend one third of our life sleeping hence this is an activity that one needs to take very seriously! Sleep is necessary for resting and rejuvenating your body and mind. Most of your bodily functions, including the ageing process, depend on the amount and quality of sleep a person gets each night. Hence, when you sleep, your surroundings need to be calm and congenial so that you can relax and fall into deep sleep, which will hopefully be undisturbed.Choosing the right kind of nightwear is very essential. Comfort along with freedom of movement is imperative and may help you sleep better. Here are some tips to keep cool on sultry nights for those who prefer not to sleep in the 'buff'!* The first point to keep in mind is the fabric and its quality. Sleepwear for men and women is available in plenty of materials like polyester cotton, silk, nylon, satin, and pure cotton. There are plenty of blended fabrics available such as Lycra and cotton if you are looking for a little bust support while you sleep. Cotton is the best pick for sleepwear since it allows your skin to breathe, keeps it well ventilated and reduces perspiration.* Fabrics like satin is also preferred by women for nightwear, however, it can make one feel warm during hot and humid summers. Nylon and silk are a definite no-no for wearing in summers and should be worn in winters as these fabrics insulate body heat.* Both men and women can wear pyjamas which allow plenty of movement and offer modesty even for the most restless of sleepers. Sleepwear for men comes in other forms as well like boxer shorts with a loose fitting tee shirt style top. Women too have options like robes, camisoles, nightgowns, skirts, short knee length one piece camisoles and shorts.* Fitting of your sleepwear is an important factor as well. Your sleepwear should feel snug or free but never tight. The seam should not prick your skin or cause irritation to the skin. * Avoid buying sleepwear that has flaps, add-ons like ribbons or pockets as they too can make you fidget and be uncomfortable! Buy elegant and simple nightwear that has minimum embellishments and embroidery and which are made of irritation free fabrics.* Opt for half sleeves or sleeveless nightgowns for summers and nightwear made of lightweight jersey fabrics if you can't find cotton as this fabric will also reduce heat during humid and hot summer's nights.* Try not to wear nightwear that has collars as this makes you feel very warm during summer. It is best to wear nightwear that has a round neck or v-neck or even boat-neck.* Cotton or simple doesn't mean dull, boring and not sexy. Buy nightwear in shades of pastels or calm shades with floral prints or impeccable checks. A little bit of lace here and there would not hurt and adds a touch of femininity. If you wear plus size clothing you can also experiment with different lengths and cuts for the type of nightwear that flaunts your body type and matches your mood!Tags: plus size clothing, beauty, fashion, clothing, plus, size
